Sort of a guide?

Hi, i was pretty bored today, Ive got my new grab handles and GTI splitter to install, but it was raining. So i couldn't be bothered.

However, i decided to take the old flakey handle cover off and mess around with it, to see what i could come up with.

I was going to sand it smooth, but i didn't have any fine paper.


Wash them, then rub them down with this


After that, them rub with this (i took the cap off and used tisue)


Then Shine with this



I see it as an alternative to spray paint which will flake off easily.


Heres the out come





It feels more 'rubbery' compared to paint, and it doesn't rub off, however it will probably need redoing every so often.
I didnt do it as a permanent solution, i was just bored and has the idea...hmm.. boot polish!

What do you think?

i think you need a hobby... lol

no seriously they look ok but i would rather get new ones than go through that effort for minimal results

Ive got new ones sitting right next to me.

But i just wanted to see (for others that want to do it) if there were others ways of colour coding them, other than with paint.

There gonna be chucked in the bin any way, so i thought i may as well do something with them lol

i know proffesionaly painted they look ace

i might get mine redone in red or just gloss black, may need a spare pair incase i balls it up *nudge nudge*

The only main reason i thought of doing it was to see what it looked like.

Ideally, id LOVE to have the front door cards GTI and the rear doors keep the same.

At the same time id love for the cards to be black. but i cba to get all the dash done black aswell lol

Alright mate ill keep them just incase they come in handy for some one!
