Steering pulling to left! help!

Post by RS_GT »

after changing the wheels, my steering is starting to pull to the left, iv checked the direction of the tyres and tyre pressures and all, and i took it to the tyre shop who said it was the tracking that needed to be sorted (couldn't sort it because i got there just before they were closing) but he had a look at it and said it might be the camber as there is slight negative camber, but it was the same before the wheels were changed and it drove straight and true

just wanted to make sure there weren't anything else before i get it tracked tomorrow and if i needed all 4 wheels tracked or just the front 2?

All 4 tracked.

Are you sure all the wheels are straight and not buckled at all?

yep they look in good order to me, first i had the balanced wheels on the back ( apparently 2 are balanced and 2 wern't), and it was pulling to the left slightly, and i swapped them over yesterday to see if it would make a difference, and it hasn't, its probably made it worse.

my local tyre shop were charging me 20 quid, but am i better off taking it to kwik fit with all their fancy machines and stuff?

do you have any idea of how much i would be looking at?

cheers alex for your help btw!

Hmm that is odd. Sounds as though they have disturbed the camber on the wishbone joint somehow. Umm, well im all for laser tracking myself as id say its more accurate, but as a result the cost is somewhat higher!
