Creaking noise from the back?

Post by aaronon »

As I'm driving along I keel hearing a quiet creaking. It sounds like the plastic tray rubbing off it's holder. That kind of plastic rubbing. But that's not what it is as I have checked.

Anyone else suffer this? It's annoying me that I know it's there. Could it be something behind the plastic of the boot door. Behind the plastic which houses the rear wiper thing?

Perhaps it's a common problem and someone could help me out? Is it easy to get the plastic boot thing off?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you sure it's not just another piece of interior trim that's worked itself loose? Mine creaked for about a week in January but then cured itself. I reckoned that it was the rear trim on my 3 door, which is visibly fitted badly, but it sorted itself before I could be bothered to take a look.

Boot trim is held on with 2 screws, one in each of the hand recesses. Then just give it a pull/carefully prise it off.

Dunno what else it could be, suspension maybe? Worn bushes or something?

It sounds like it's coming from inside the car.

What is the read trim is that the same as the boot trim? I guess I could take it off and have a little look inside. :)

When I said rear trim before what I actually meant was the rear quarter panel by the rear seats on the 3 door. I don't think that there is actually anything behind this unless you have rear speakers fitted. If you've got a 5 door, then clearly there's window winders and all that behind the rear door cards. Would assume that both options are equally easy to remove/refit

Thanks a lot. It sounds to be coming right from the back so I'll take of the paneling that is below the rear window. :)

Lol guys :)

it's not a rattle if some kind it's more a creak of plastic rubbing off something!!

I've just turned on the radio when I drive. I still know it's there though :D
