Monsoon vs Delta: what are the differences?

Well, I'm being forced to consider a new Radio for my 9N. I'd really like one of those double-DIN VW units, possibly from eBay.

But they come in two flavours and can't quite distinguish them: there's the 'Monsoon' series (CD/Tape or 6-CD in-dash combos) and there's the European 'Delta series (I've only seen the Delta 6 so far).

What are the differences? Which one is best? Do I need a Monsoon amp for a monsoon unit to work?

The euro Delta's are supposed to be very good in terms of sound quality, AMP power they are significantly better than the Gamma's but I've never heard of the Monsoon.
