There'll be no Polo R, not at the moment, anyway:

Shame, 210bhp, 1.6-litre turbo sounded like a monster!

Dealers clearly know something the Volkswagen UK press office don't then!

Might make sense to deny it - might hurt the arrival of the lower-powered (but more 'affordable' GTI).

It would appear that the Polo R is definitely not coming: http://www.egmcartech.com/2010/05/20/vo ... n-the-way/

But... who knows!

Why in the name of Christ would anyone buy that instead of a Scirroco that costs just 2 grand more ?

No point buying a Scirocco unless its the 2.0 GT. The price of the 2.0 GT is £23.613 standard. So thats £5300 more. The 1.4 Rocco at the same price is a 122ps engine, the 160ps version is over £20k. However, due to the issues trying to get this car ordered, i may just end up buying a 6-12 month old Rocco GT if VW dont sort themselves out soon.

Asked about this today down my local Stealer too, shocked at the price tbh. I know it's french but I'd rather but a Clio 200 Cup and save some serious cash yet have just as much if not more fun

How much is the Clio worth after 3 years? I have priced up both on PCP plans, and due to horrendously poor residuals of the Clio RS, it turns out more expensive on a monthly basis.
