loose gear knob

Hi - I have seen the thread on how to removethe gear knob but I am not sure if anyone can help me with a loose one?

Basically the gear knob has some give to it - if in neutral the 1,2,3,4,5 are all ligned up but sometimes it clicks a bit anti clockwise just a little. If I turn it clockwise then it feels like it locks back in place but it never does for long.

Any ideas what I need to do?

Sounds like the clip attaching the knob to the shift lever is knackered. If that's the case, it's a simple fix...new clamp is around £2 if that. Not sure what the part number is, but I think RITCHAT knows. Try sending him a PM.
