transponder removal
right i have a slight problem... i have a new vw flip key to replace my old one wich randomly decided it didnt want to lock my car anymore... BUT i need to get the transponder out after i have superglued it in, i know acetone will do the job of setting the glue back to a liquid state but i need to know what the transponder is made of so i know if the acetone will react to it or not ?
possible options:
carbon fibre - fine should be no chemical reaction at all
glass - even better acetone dosent react to this
plastic - big problemo... highly concentrated acetone will melt it lol
why in the blue hell did i superglue it.. what an idiot !

Re: transponder removal
It is made of the same thing that circuitry ICs are made of. Like a bakelite-silica compound. It shouldnt be affected if you use as little as possible
Re: transponder removal
not directly related but is the chip easy to get out of the original key?

Re: transponder removal
Where abouts have you put it in the flip key? It needs to be as close to the blade end as possible.

Re: transponder removal
it was its in the holder that already in the flip key... but i dont understan cause it worked before in my old flip key... and now it wont... i did put a bit of acetone on it to dissolve the glue ... you reckon that killed it ?

Re: transponder removal
Have you damaged its edges at all?
Its possible, but unlikely.
