Hey, ive got a MK4 Polo Automatic and now weirdly when I get in the car I can't change it from Park to Drive. It's like the gearbox is locked and I can't push the button on the side in to change gear! Quite annoying this decided to happen in a petrol station whilst someone was waiting behind me! Quite annoying! Anyone know whats up with it or is anyone having the same problem?

My 1997 6n 1.6 Auto had the same problem. Thought I had big GB troubles just to find it was the knob slider spring. I had to replace the gear knob.
You can take it off (grub screw at side) and change gears by pressing on the shaft. I replaced it with a gear knob from the wreckers but it seems after market ones should fit.

Thanks for commenting mate appreciate it!
