Changing to Golf!

Post by ywouldi »

Hello all,

As my cam belt decided to snap in the middle of nowhere last night and I have a couple of reliable sources telling me I will be damn lucky if the Valves havent been bent I am going to move over to a Golf.

Does anyone here know any decent forums as I have googled for some but as is the way with Google nowadays its full of ads!

Have bought a 1990 Mk2 Golf 1.3.

So far its OK, changed Oil, New front engine mount, new alternator belt. When I am home from Uni in the summer gonna get rid of the little specks of rust that show through the (not my fav, but for my budget I couldnt complain) white paint.

Just trying to get rid of the Polo, no bugger wants it and I resent payin £40 to let a scrappy make some money off it! So far my mates and I have planned to slap a new cam belt on it ourselves, time it roughly and cut the roof off for some dodgy convertible fun! Doubt it'll happen but u never know!

I agree with that.

Too much trash on there, and the site's too slow.

That golfgti.co.uk site seems to be good. What about No-Rice, Dub-Club or one of the million other UK clubs about?

cant you source a new head (complete with valves...) and time that properly? (it doesnt need much - it's all marked off externally)
