Dan's MK4 Polo - Progress thread.

Post by Dan_6n_Polo »

Hey All...

I have purchased a 1999 MkIV Polo, Silver, 1.4.

This is my first progress thread.. so forgive me if I don't update as regularly as others on here! Altough I'll try my best!

Okay so here goes.

So far I have:

> De-Wipered rear wiper

> Removed bumper strips

> De-Badged at back (bar VW logo)

> Shark fin aerial

and thats about it.

Plans for future...

>Coilovers

> Wheels

> HID Kit

>Smoked rear lights

I'll upload pics soon.

Here's the car when I first got it...

Image

Shark fin, took hub caps off, took off the bumper strips. I ran out of T-Cut so I couldn't finish off the debadging or the bumper strips..

A couple more extras i would like to do to the car..

- Black Deep dish?
- Spray the roof black
- GTi or 16v front and rear bumpers (I dunno what they are actually called)
- Smooth boot lid

Update soon...

Ok... Big problem..

Blue smoke has suddenly appeared.. Fml.

New head gasket.. piston rings.. Two of the most important parts :'(

Looking at about £600 - £800 repairs..

Goodnight Euro Look.

Hi guys..

Got the car checked out by several people. It's definately the head gasket.. but there are a number of things that the other problem could be. So.. I have decided to take it off the road (because MOT is due and a) can't afford it b) it's not gona pass anyway) and save for a 'new' engine. If all goes well i'll purchase one from the scrappy and get it fitted by a mate, then put it back on the road. This means no car for about 7 weeks :'( Sad times..
