heater dials - light out?

Post by solidsponge »

Hello all,

My light behind the 3 dials has gone off and Im wondering is theres an easy way to fix or replace a bulb somewhere? I took the front off but that didnt really offer up anything other than the light seems to reflect off everything?

Never mind I forgot I had the manual and it would be that (strange to forget)

Its a case of unscrewing a few things and pulling off the holder. The bulb says "os 12/1.2 w6m bulb" for anyone for future reference. I bought one online but its hard to find, its known as a 286 bulb I think, hopefully should fit. You can get different colours too although not sure it would be a good idea in another colour in just this area.

I don't know what the bulb size is but I do know you need to be careful or you may break the clear plastic spider that distributes the light.
Once these are broken you need much dexterity putting it back together. If you need to use glue try superglue not epoxy as the light will pass through superglue.
Have fun!

the bulb has gone on mine, just use a star shaped screw to unscrew all the parts out, their should be around 6-8 of them to undo, then behind it all theres a little plastic board where the light shines across, just got o halfords they always have them size ones, only 1 quid or someothing

btw you might have to take you cd player out depends on if you can undo the dial covers etc.
