Yes. Either prise it off with your fingers, or use some dental floss. It least an indent.. But no holes.

It looks odd. There is a recess for it in the tailgate, so it cant be removed with a clean look. You would use trimtape to refix it

Number Plate sticky pads.
when u take the badge off you will see its originally just stock on with a 1mm black round double sided sticky pad!

i tried sticking just number plate tape along the V and W bits but it wasnt strong enuf.
so my boyriend grabbed me 3 number plate sticky pads from vw where he works and its worked a treat stuck on nice and hard.
but they r the same as the ones from halfords but its like £2.49 for a pack.

i would deff suggest double sided sticky pads tho!
at the end of the day its what VW orginally used! and it wont damamge your paintwork
