do i have to buy the Tt ones or can i buy any vw 312mm caliper and carrier set? also the same with brake discs will any 312mm vag disc do? or does it have to ve 5 stud, certain thickness etc?

VAG ones shold fit, if same PCD.
Clearance is the biggest potential issue, if they are bulky you'll have to space the wheels or find suitable wheels.
