Flat spot

My 09 gti has 23,000 miles on and feels nicely ran in. Its been remapped to stage 1, with a panel filter fitted. Noticed a flat spot from new around 3-4000rpm, which it seems many 1.8t's suffer from, and had hoped a remap would smooth out this dip in power. This to a certain extent has worked, but its still there and becomes more noticeable with passengers in the car, the car is always ran on decent fuel which makes a big difference. Any ideaswhat should be my next move/modification to try and eradicate this flatspot? all comments welcome ross

They normally suffer from flat spots when "off boost" but I guess your going to feel it more with passengers in the car due to the extra weight and the power ratio being down. Other popular modifications are Stainless Exhaust system, De-cat, Front Mount Intercooler etc, with a stage 2 map should see around 220bhp+.

What gear do you notice the flat spot in? I pressume its 4th or 5th?
