central locking problem

Hi,

Until now I have been able to lock/unlock with the key from the passenger side and the central locking system operates ok ( the drivers and tailgate locks are externally damaged )

All of a sudden the passenger side does not respond anymore when you turn the key and there is no wurring sound, and it won't even unlock the passenger door.
However the central locking works fine from the internal switch in the centre consul so I guess the pumps ok.

My car is a 51 plate estate registered in jan 2002 but is the same shape as i.e. a 1999 model so is it a mk4??

when I had my mk4 they key stopped working as well. It turned out there is a pin the lock if I remember correctly and it broke. Go VW and ask them for a print out pf the door lock and there you will see the problem.
