throttle body problem?

Post by marc_fc2003 »

hi there!

not sure if this is quite the right forum but my y2k polo has a problem of cutting out. the red alternator light comes on, power steering then goes as does anything being powered by the alternator. i've had the alternator and battery checked and they are both in perfect order. the car also jolts randomly when driving and it loses revs when this happens. after a diagnostics test (there were 4 errors) the guy said it's probably my throttle body and said its about £150 to replace.

i'd like to know if i can get it cheaper online and if anyone else has a similar experience,

many thanks,

marc

Well... I'm inclined to trust mechanics more than my own knowledge... but still...

Eh?

I've had intermittent cutting out while driving, and **touch wood** I've sorted it by cleaning my MAP Sensor and TB with Wynn's Carb Cleaner.
