My Polo 9n3

Post by ali123 »

Hi I bought a 2005 9n3 Silver Polo a couple of weeks ago which I love already. But I have plans already :D

This is my current list of things I want to do:

Front honeycomb grill
Debadge rear letters
Front grill vinyl
Paint wing mirrors silver
Paint lower grills silver
Stubby Aerial
Satin black front and rear VW badges
Aux kit for the stereo
Cupra front wishbone bushes
HIDs
GTI projectors or daylines maybe
Audi TT comps, monzas or maybe rs6 alloys
Coilover kit

The only problem so far is where do I get the vinyl from for the front grill surround? I will be picking up the rest of it from stealers and eBay  . Can anybody recommend any websites that I can buy specific items from such as coilovers or grills?

Also when I got the car it had a sticker in the window saying it had been coated with diamondbrite, so how do I go about cleaning it, because I am guessing it only lasts for so long. So what would be the best thing to do?

I'm guessing there is lots of people have asked all this before but I couldn't find the posts, so sorry if someone already has. I will get some pictures on later this week when the weather clears up :)

Hi dude and welcome,

I went down the same route with the vinyl for the front grill part, the vinyl comes to two colours, chrome or black. I bought mine off here:

Scroll down to "KAMEI car styling, front masks"
http://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehs ... rand=kamei

Now instead of the vinyl i got mine painted silver. Coilovers i am getting budget ones off venommotorsport, they do these JOM ones for our Polo for £199.99 including delivery, this is according to eBay. Always search on eBay to see if you can get a bargain.

Diamondbrite is really good but what i personally use is a combination of Autoglym and Meguiars products to maintain the gloss and shine of the car so it looks all showroom perfect again. Browse around these two brands i use and there's plenty u can buy to keep ur Polo looking bright and attractive. Hope everything i said makes sense lol.

Thanks V-Man :D

The price for those front masks seems a bit steep, so I might just get some black vinyl, like the stuff you use for adding racing stripes  and try that to see how it looks, and then maybe in the summer I might spray it black

I phoned the stealers today and they gave me prices for things:
GTI front grill - £65
Pair of pre primed wing mirror housing - £57!!
Aux Kit - £120

Looks like I am going ot start browsing the german ebay!
I've dug out some autoglym so I will give that a try sometime with some turtlewax.

I wonder if anyone has ever painted bump strips? They are not smooth on mine and I want them to match the paint, so I guess I will have to take them off, sand them down to make them before I paint them, is this right?
