9n3 rear gti badge, on or off
9n3 rear gti badge, on or off
mines still fitted at the minute and has been for the 4 years of ownership, my car is detailed at every necessary time and is maintained regardless of cost or budget, both paint and parts
lately, despite being an ocd clean freak and having the right tools and equipment, around the badge rarely looks faultlessly clean, do im considering losing it
anyone got any photos of a gti, preferably black but any will do thats debadged at the rear
thanks
jeff

Seen a few 9n3 (not GTIs) with the badge off and it just looks weird and unfinished and a bit boy racery! Maybe remove the badge and get bodyshop to paint the inserts pearl black?
Re: 9n3 rear gti badge, on or off
i agree kenny, i mean the gti badge though not the vw badge
Re: 9n3 rear gti badge, on or off

First thing i did when i got the car home
I have also fiited the boot handle without keyhole (not show in this pic)
Just need to spray the badge black.

Ignore what I said, thought you meant the VW! Take it off, and if you dont like it put it back on. Took mine off when I had it to go for the clean look and makes people think it only a 1.4KennyPOLO_Gti wrote:Seen a few 9n3 (not GTIs) with the badge off and it just looks weird and unfinished and a bit boy racery! I'd keep it on, I think the back looks a bit empty without the badge in the bottom left.
Also, if you really want to go stealth, you'd need to remove the grill badge as well.

Is not really a stealth thing, just looks cleaner with it off in my opinion

Just my opinion here, but you paid for a GTi.. You should be proud to have that badge on your boot!

Re: 9n3 rear gti badge, on or off
I'm not saying I'm not proud, my cars by baby, but the stuck on badge makes its perfectly clean presentation keep looking less than perfect, now with it off it's a million times easier and cleaner, been speaking to my local bodyshop about removing the VW badge on the rear but can't decide on that yet. But he says it's an easy job to remove the badge and weld the plate in and smooth over it, decisions decisions
