Noisy Steering

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and looking for a little help on a issue with my 2006 Polo GTI.

At slow speed the steering makes a strange swirling/grinding/creaking noise on full lock or near full lock.

I have checked the power steering fluid level and that's fine, the steering feels fine as well.

Any ideas on what this could be?

Worked it out after a lot of head scratching!
I sprayed the top mount with GT85 by turning the steering on full lock and using a tube on the can. I also sprayed the ARB bush at the same time and hey presto no creaking!

It got noisy again - turned out to be the strut top mount - the bearing had split
£100 later and all is well!
