polo 9n diesel

Post by Gtimatt »

helooo 9n forum :D

my boss's wife has a 9n diesel and the oil light is on and hasnt been serviced in a year, so it needs an oil change.

i offered to do it thinking itll be a simple job and the garage they were gonna use is booked up till tuesday.

can anyone just briefly or via picture to save me time show me where the sump is on it and the oil filter too. and if anyone knows what size hex key i will need

any help is greatly appreciated :D

19mm on pretty much all VAG sumps, as long as it looks ok you dont need a new washer... well they dont come off so it would be a new sump plug alltogether but its re-usable anyway,
the oil filter is a paper cartridge insert, you can see the housing when you take the engine cover off, to take the lid off the filter housing its either a 32 or 36mm socket or filter wrench/pliers should do it

make sure you get the proper spec oil for it or you're asking for trouble  needs to be vw 505.01 or higher i think

easy enough though
