1.2 TSI Remap

Post by B1N9S »

Just got a new Polo 1.2 TSI SEL. Very nice and very refined for such a small car, but I need more power !!!!

Anyone know anywhere doing remaps on the 1.2 TSI engine ? Prices ?

Thanks

Hi there

I do like the 1.2 TSI SEL, had a test drive but decided it didn't have enough power.

Anyway try ABT, because there was a bit in Volkswagen Driver about ABT remaps for 1.2 AND 1.4 VW engines. I think they had boosted 1.2 TSI up to about 130bhp

Good luck

Revo is being run in a GTI by another user here, DNA Tuning have the 77TSI map available, APR Australia are working on the GTI, don't know if they will be working on the 77TSI though...

Emailed Revo, but still waiting on a reply.

I might drop in some Eibach or H&R springs while I wait !!!!! Can't stand the 4x4 look of the rear end !!

Anyone got either of these fitted. I have H&R springs on my Golf and they are a little soft, never had Eibach, although they seem to be a cheaper option on the Polo 6R !!!

Weitec are another option ? Sorry to change the subject of the thread. Anyone got any of these fitted and can offer any findings and pics are always nice !!!

Thanks mate.

But I just want to lower the car, more for asthetics than cornering ability !!! The original set up is already pretty good, I threw it around on some bendy stuff earlier today and was quite impressed. I just dont like the HUGE gap between the tyre and the arch !!! I never have and have lowered almost all my cars (mostly Golf Gti's though !!).

Anyway !! I just bought some H&R springs from Ebay.De. $125 Euro ((£109GBP) delivered). Bit of a diffrence to DPMPerformance who are asking £157 GBP for the same item !!!!

Anyone wanting some stick this in the Ebay search bar: 170611374617

LOL. Yeh I hate the MASSIVE gap between the tyre and the arch, especially at the rear. The springs arrived yesterday, so once they are fitted I'll post some pics. Not sure if it will need spacers, but will see once it comes down.

Here's a chop of what it should look like !!

I inquired about this for my cousin 1.2 TSI from MTM in germany, but there a bit on the pricey side
They also have UK dealer called QS Tuning, which did my 2010 TTRS.
Give them a buzz

I have had a reply from REVO who say they WILL be doing a map for this engine, but not yet !! Seems a no brainer to me !

Celtic Tuning have offered to do it for £360, which is not bad and takes the car to 129PS, 165 lb/ft.... Thinking about this one.

And ABT have been on the dog and bone, offering a 'tuning box' for..............wait for it.................£1500 !!!!! And they say that will acheive 140PS.

I have now lowered the car on H&R 25/40 springs and it rides brilliant and looks so much better than the 4x4 look it previously had.

Alex, you'll love the car, it's a cracking little motor, if I finally take the remap plunge I will let you know my thoughts, but from experience, I know it will be ALL GOOD !!!!!

£1500?! That's obscene! I was speaking to a friend today about remapping and he reccomended the place he got his VXR Corsa remapped, they're wanting £300 but i've not yet recieved a reply with BHP/Torque improvements yet so i'll post back when I recieve a reply. Can be seen on the link below :)
