The Progression of my Mildred

Post by RiPolo6n »

I'm quite new into the modifications scene, and I have a little slow 1l but wanted to join the 'Low & Slow' club until something happened to my engine so I could get a conversion. I also wanted to do a Harlequin re-make but not too sure what people might think...

The only rust patch I have is on the drivers door & it's hardly anything, I need tips on how to get rid of this!
Image
Can anybody give me hints on how to get this rust patch off & how to use mesh etc etc..

Here are some photos of my standard Polo:
My splitter was grey and it had split in the middle and the previous owner used yellow glue to stick it together. My boyfriend reglued it with glue that goes clear, then resprayed the splitter black.

I would love to know what people think I should modify & what I should change. I was thinking pinstriping my grill? With red obviously.
Also, is my car Tornado Red? Haha.

Your car is Flash Red. Tornado Red is a Golf colour.

For a decent repair, youll need to get that door done at a bodyshop - do it sooner than later or the rust will ruin the door

16V bumpers are a start, with some clear side indicators

Thanks for clearing that up for me!
Yeah I'll do it as soon as I get the money up, do you know roughly the price?

Like alex said get some clear side indicators, they look alot better.

You could also get some clear side repeaters as well.

Yeah I'm definitely up for that. The amber & red is not a good look.

Indeed! Sorry it's taken so long.

So, the first 'proper' little personalisation thing I have personally done to my car was today, my boyfriend bought me a pinstripe kit thing to see how it'll turn out.
Image

LUCKILY it's exactly the same red as my car :supercool:
So, we started pinstriping it.

This is how it looks now :)

We need to redo the edges because we used a blunt stanley knife

and I've taken the 1.0l badge off.
My car has barely faded! 8)

& Drilled holes in my airbox to make it that tiny bit louder.. I didn't really want to do too many and make it sound stupid!

Did you use ST RM Style Stripe, if so thats the stuff I used to do my grill, if you apply heat you should be able to get nice curves on it.

During:

I loved this, there was a sticker that said "Hot Sh*t from Japan". My boyfriend (vr6golfchris) said "cut out the hot & keep the 'sh*t from japan' "

After:

CARS CALLED MILDRED

So.. I loved this SO much.. I did my tow loop cover :) but this wasn't the final product it was just a few stickers before! So doesn't look much different

WELL happy afterwards..
