Newbie. Polo 1.4Tdi MK6

Post by offfoo182 »

Hi, all.

Just bought a Polo with 60K on the clock, needs some work and a few parts however, looking for a reputable garage to do the work in the Staffordshire area.

VW want £650...

Parts List

Wiper Blades front
Air Filter
Oil Filter
Fuel Filter
Brake Light
Reverse Light
Cambelt Kit (tensioner ect)
Oil 5W30 fully synthetic (5L)
Dipstick
Petrol Cover (as in the body part not screw in)
Fuses - Assorted
Glow Plugs
Brake Fluid
Pollen Filter

Also - does anybody have problems with the fans... on 4 it still hardly comes out of the vents, with or without air conditioning on. been told its a series resistor failure? anybody shed any light on this?

You could at least do the wiper blades and light bulbs yourself, that would save a few pennies

Glow plugs, fuses and the filters (bar fuel) can all be easily done by a novice DIYer

Fuel filter took me all of 10 minutes when I did mine. The only tool needed is a set of pliers!

Apart from cambelt and oil change / filter & brake fluid, most of that would take a couple of hours tops for a novice!

Ash :)
