a problem with revs

Post by dub6n2 »

So one night I had this problem with my polo, when i press the throttle it revved up to 3000rpm and acted like it had a rev limiter set to that rpm for a few seconds and then gradually lowers the rpms?! the epc light turned on but when I started the car the day after it turned off by itself. the car is ok now but I am still curious of what was the problem so does anyone know pls?

Its a dodgy sensor. Likely to be Cam Position sensor or crank sensor.

Get it plugged into vagcom - there will be a fault code on there for sure

so did the vag com scan and there was an error stored-something to do with speed control sensor! is it the same as a cam position sensor, cos a search on google showed something similar. and why did it act like that and now it's fine?
