Newb - W-plate 6n

Post by Xion »

Hey,

The car isn't actually mine, it's the missus' but I'm seeking assistance.

She's just got herself a silver 1.4 CL 6n on a W plate. From what I can tell from Parker's it's got a few of the options fitted (Alloys, glass-sunroof, paint, but other than that it's standard. Having read over the FAQ and common faults thread, I can't say I have found any of those present in her car. It's just over 100,000 with FSH. Seems to be a lovely little motor.

Although I have questions:

1. Will it have central locking fitted? Reason I ask is that it came with one key and it's not a fob however when you push/pull the door pins it feels like there's a locking motor connected. If it is likely to be fitted, then it doesn't work so what would be the likely cause?

2. Bizarrely the only thing I can find at fault with it is that it's missing it's factory fitted 3rd brake-light. Anyone know where I can get one cheap ?

3. Ok, just remembered a 2nd fault, the fuel flap lock doesn't lock, related to the C/L ?

Thanks

central locking is vaccume operated, common to fail. the pump is on the drivers side in the boot, behind the first aid flap

Yeah the fuel filler cap is linked to the central locking. Mine went on my N reg last year.. I wasn't able to get it repaired had to buy a new like £20-£30 on eBay.

Ok So I've fitted a new pump and still nothing. I've checked the fuse under the dash and that's fine as far as I can tell, if someone can confirm that it is the one shared with the radio?

Are there any relays etc I should look at ?
