HID problems
HID problems
Iv just fitted hids to my car n when I have them turned on they work fine but when I flash my lights or stick them onto full beam the passenger side goes to full beam but the driver side flashes up n goes back to low beam, it's like police head lights so any ideas please.
Re: HID problems
sounds like a dodgy ballast tbh

Re: HID problems
not realy, they have seperate igniters for the lamp built into the balast. id try swapping the balasts round and see if the problem switches to the other side. if it does then its the ballast, if not then its something else
Re: HID problems
Cheers il try do it the day n get back to u.
Re: HID problems
It's defo not the ballast, it dun the same side wen I changed them ova.
Just fitted new bulbs and messed around with the wires n I have managed to have them on low beam with no probs but when I put them on high beam they don't stay on but both do like a pop with a high beam wen u flash or wen u put them on high beam n straight back off.

Re: HID problems
yep, that will be the ignitor in the ballast, get onto the manufacturer and get it changed

Re: HID problems
thats not the ballast or ignitor at all
Thats a failure in either the solenoid built into the bulb housing, or you have a fault in the hi/lo switcher relay that controls the full beam swapover.
On H4 hi/lo headlights like you have, when you go to main beam, a solenoid is activated which pulls the bulb back out of the shield to move the beam
Youll need them to replace the bulb/housing for the side thats faulty
