I dont mean to sound rude, but a drivetrain swap on a polo?!. Like I said in your previous post, just get a more performance orientated car. end of the day, its just not worth it..... Unless of course, you have lots and lots of monies.

It would be cheaper to buy an r32 and put a polo engine in it. giving you a 4wd polo!

I don't want to sound negative or anything, because if you want to do it then why not? Be advised though that you will never get the money back for it that you put in and you may actually end up devaluing your car...

And wouldn't this have to be redeclared to the DVLA who would then have to inspect the car cause of the amount of work and it being such a huge change ?.

Is this not the same as engine transplants yet people don't do that? If your a bit daring you could leave it but it don't cost much for a vosa check less than £100 which is nothing compared to the cost of the build. Any reason for the con version tho?

Polo gti is a 1.8t. 8L S3 is 1.8t 4wd.
If you can shoehorn an RS4 block and drive chain into an S3, I reckon you can fit an S3 lump into a polo...

Fitting an S3 lump in a Polo 9n/9n3 aint a problem as its been done quite a few times. But putting a 4wd drive train in a polo
is a totally different challenge. I am not saying it cant be done but certainly will take alot of man hours and LOTS OF MONEY
Once done, i personally wont feel confident and safe on the road. :|

In all seriousness if you want a change from FWD then put a cage in the back and lots of struts, cut a hole in the boot and stick an R1 / Hyabusa engine in create a divide between you and the engine with perspex/ metal to stop your ear drums popping and being gassed / set on fire.

complete custom suspension, brakes, steering, wireing etc.
Would be laugh and would be amazing fun.

S3 engine would go in but the running gear is defo too wide and probably too long as well so although its s3 running gear alot of it would still need to be custom.

If you want a better way to put power down and have a big budget you dont need to go 4wd, with LSD, excellent suspension, good setup, custom map and a ''clever'' aftermarket traction control system you can put down huge power fwd.
