Electric window fault

Post by chrisb »

evening,
My passengers window has stop working but i can still here the clicky noise. i have checked the rubber between the door and chassis and a brown was stripped of a bit of insulation but nothing else.I have tested the switch on the drivers side door lock switch( same plug) and it works.
I have now tested the switch with a voltage tester and am getting a constant live,a live when the lights are on,and a live when the switch is pulled up and the other two are earths? (brown)which i have continunity on.
so are these right.is there a way to test the motor? because the window dont do down when i put the key in the door

any help
cheers

right windows sorted.
what i did was
1.checked the rubber between the door and chassis no problems there.
2 checked the switches worked.they did.
3. stripped the door card off and gave it a good hitting and it worked slowy. Now i no it was jammed by awonky window.
One of the regulators clips was broken, and had be bodged before.so i took the whole lot out of the door and fixed the regulators in place by drilling a hole through the peg and securing them with a rivet or a nail will do,just bend them so they can't fall out .Now is solid and works perfectly.

Hope this help anyone with simular problems
