Hi, Just wondering when to change my HT Leads. It says in the book to change spark plugs at 40000 miles but does nt mention anything on the leads. Any ideas?
Also, has anyone had the oil changed on the haldex coupling? if so how much did it cost?
When to change the HT leads?

Re: When to change the HT leads?
Presumably, you'll have coil packs, so there are no HT leads.

On a 9n3... Assuming it's the same as a 9n, there are individual coil packs for each cylinder, which connect directly to each spark plug. Obviously, there is a wire which connects to them, but it's not High Tension. The system is controlled by the crank/cam position sensors and the ECU.
Earlier models had a single coil (pre 1992 ish, it was a traditional cylindrical coil, then later ones had an oil cooled square box type effort) and HT leads connecting that to the distributor, then out to the cylinders.

Re: When to change the HT leads?
As said already ignition coil is actually COPs (Coil On Plug) - so no EHT leads to worry about.JamesRees05 wrote:Hi, Just wondering when to change my HT Leads. It says in the book to change spark plugs at 40000 miles but does nt mention anything on the leads. Any ideas?

Haldex coupling - I did not realise that any Polos (so far) were fitted with Four Wheel Drive systems at the factory. (Haldex is the poor man's version of four wheel drive control system (slip before grip) - Torsen is the proper person's version of four wheel drive control system ( grip and grip) ).
