CRUNCHING REVERSE???HELP

Hi all
i know this topic has prob been touched before and sorry for bringing it up again.
just wanna know of all the diffrnt things that can be the cause. ive had the clutch changed about 500miles ago so not that.
the biteing point is abit low down??

HELP!!!

There's a way of avoiding it happening and towards the bottom is my rather crappy explanation of why it happens

thanks for ur post. i think your explanation is bang on it makes alot of sense.
ive tried holding the clutch down before putting in reverse and made no diffrnce. it only started recently the grinding and is playing with my head.
i read a post in here cant find it now but some1 said they changed the pedal box and that resolved the issue, make sense to u?
also ive never driven a car with the biteing point so low down, ive owned a 6n2 before and didnt have this issue with the biteing point.

it was the pedal box...
