dash clock/ service ind.

The clock on the dash keeps going back to 0.00 every time the ignition is switched off and the service indicator will not reset even after a service granted not at a vw dealership,how do i resolve the problem ?

Sounds like thers's a problem with the battery. If you turn the ignition off, the power gets cut and the clock goes back to zero. Alternatively, there could be a fault in the car's ground (minus cable) so check that as well.

Thanks 4 the advice don't think theres a battery problem well only that theirs no starting problems will get the cable checked out,any ideas on how to go about that ?. cheers

Simply open the bonnet and check out the connections of the battery. The terminals should be clean and firmly in place. Also check the ground coming from the battery to the chassis, if its connection is rusty or loose, it may cause intermittent power losses.

Do the clocks make a whirring noise when u turn the key?? Check the fuses for the clocks in the fuse box, happened to mine

Cheers 4 that Col fuse had gone,replaced and everythings tickety boo.
