temperature and bearing problem?

Post by way_z »

Hi guys, need some help and advice on two issues please....

one... a grinding droning noise has gradually got louder from the nearside front wheel... im guessing bearings shot so how much can i expect to pay for parts and labour??

two... my temperature guage doesn't seem to reach halfway as normal? its not completely dead tho, it does go up to only 70 or so but even after a long drive it just doesn't seem to warm up? engine itself is warm to touch, thinking it could be temp sender and was wondering how easy it to replace?? want to give that a go before putting into the garage... would it be picked up from a vagcom diagnostics?

any info appreciated!

a mate done my bearing for £35, makes a huge difference and is upto you as to wheather you get both fronts done at the same time or just the one you know is shot

do you mean the engine temp sensor ?, all electrical faults like that can be picked up via vagcom,

Temp sender and thermostat - replace them both.
