Wondering - how best to sort this?

Post by Tahrey1043 »

Just out of interest, what's folks suggestion for the best way to fix or replace this, & how long / hard / expensive is it likely to be?

Ouch (with culprit still at the scene)

A more revealing top-down view

As it stands right now (without silly slogans daubed on)

The underlying damage - caved-in door, flaked/lost paint, battered and detached rubbing strip etc. Mercifully glass, mirror, most of the paint, seals, lock, joint and main car frame still intact.
Also the door card inside has sproinged loose at the bottom and some of the clips seem to have gone missing.

Argh!

Car at least is still drivable (though it's already questionable aerodynamics are now completely shot - i can get ass whipped by 900cc Novas on the motorway) and the door opens/shuts/locks, but not without some difficulty. The girl that did it has offered kindly to help with the whole thing so I need to figure out how much trouble I'm going to put her through

Cheers 8)

POLO - small but hard as death  Like a rabid terrier, or that short bloke down the local who used to be in the SBS before they discharged him for being "too mental".

I would say that too. Just switch ya door cards and bits of trim over. Can be done with another body in next to no time.

Karl.

Thanks!
Hehehe baseball bat... if only i didnt know them so well

Whole new door then, hmm... easy enough replacement? It *looks* like three or four big bolts, if i can rope someone in to holding the things in place while i remove the battered one and add the new one.
(will have to get some new clips for the drivers side door card while i'm at it, its been a bit loose for ages :D)

Perhaps I could charge the culprit a fiver extra, and thereby buy and give them the deeds to Karl's "broken" Mk2 so that they can have a better car with improved visibility :D
