newbie question/ intro/ HID

Post by rajk »

Hi I'm new here, my missus just brought a S Plate polo with really low mileage, 40K, I am looking for a HID kit for this car, really want a plug and play thingy, don't want to mess about modding too much because she will not appreciate it. The reason I want the kit because the polo OE headlights are just not bright enough. And frankly pants!

Any recommendations? I have a Williams Clio and these use H4's and it is a high/low beam are Polo's the same?

Anyway really thought I should introduce myself, I have a feeling I will be here alot.

Polos take H4 bulbs on the Mk4s in any case

HID kits are soon to be illegal and will fail an MOT with new test rules that come into effect January.

If there isn't self levelling and headlight washers installed, yes.

Bugger. Interesting point though the cords Vxr doesn't have headlight washers for the HIDs out of the factory though

thanks for the replies, did not know that about HID's, do you know if the offence is endorsable or non endorsable FPN? Although MOT failure, I cant see regular coppers stopping you for having these. Unless you get stopped by a traffic copper then your screwed.

Is it new legislation?
