Hi, ive got a 61 plate match which doesent have a temp display in midline ,but on cold mornings i get a ice warning star and temp display varying below 4 deg.
Does this mean it actually does have a outside temp sensor that i can turn on to run fulltime using vcds?
Steve.
Cold temp display
Re: Cold temp display
I have the full computer thing including temp gauge. It pings once and flashes, rather annoyingly, when it's 4°C and below and over-rides any other readout. It needs switching off to stop the flashing.
This it would seem you have an outside sensor for a temp gauge, but no gauge...

Re: Cold temp display
You could always move somewhere warmer
I don't know if it could be turned off, it could work but I'm sure it's buried in the bowels of the coding somewhere. Don't know how true it is, but I was told but a VW liar that when it comes on, especially in the gti, it might activate a cold weather shifting program etc on the dsg and limit engine torque at low speeds to stop wheel spin etc....
I take most things from VW with a grain of salt though:)
