Hi Folks,
Was wondering whether anyone had experience of this problem?
I have a 1999 polo 1.6 8v saloon, and it has developed a nasty habit of wipers turning on at will and occasionally the indicators not working. I have changed the dual mounting for indicators and wipers but it persists, Is there a relay at fault or can someone knowledgeable on this site help e please?

If that reads that you've already changed the stalks, see if someone's local and substitute a relay. (19 or 99 i'd assume) otherwise, look at earths (often the source of electrical gremlins) ... Wherever the stalks earth to (checking any wires for continuity/high resistance, as well as re-seating any terminals) and the earth for the motor itself.
