Hi,
After watching this video on youtube - https://www.youtube*.com/watch?v=xrZPVU0YECE I wondered if there is any way of getting the speed displayed as one of the MFD displays, but in MPH. Is this at all possible, and how would I do it? Would it need to go to a dealer?
Thanks

Speed display
You need access to VCDS and change the cluster unit to Australian.
Re: Speed display
Sorry, but what's VCDS? How do I get access to it too?
Cheers

Re: Speed display
Have done this on mine now, great little mod. As well as a multitude of other tweaks. Im in the process of trying to get an official dealer of the Ross Tech VCDS HexCan USB cables to organise a group buy over on the Mk5 Golf GTI Forum, so keep your eyes peeled. We are just awaiting pricing now.
Re: Speed display
Do I just need the cable? Is the software free with it? It looked like it was $250 on that link above, don't fancy paying that for me to do one little tweak with it.Deako wrote:Have done this on mine now, great little mod. If you can get a good price on it please let me know, I might be interested
Re: Speed display
It will be more than $250. That is the us price, gotta factor in shipping and taxes. But we are hoping it will be around £230 ish. If you dont want to invest, then you just need someone to do it for you locally.
The software works with the cable. You can download it from the Ross Tech site.

Gendan
Gendan are the approved UK importer of VCDS cables. It's a bit pricey but finding a genuine one on ebay etc is hard work. The license is contained within the cable so you can download the software onto any computer and use the genuine cable to activate all the functions. Otherwise, you're limited in what you can do with the free version. It's a fantastic bit of kit to have though, well worth the money if you like to give repairs a go yourself.
