Exhaust options

Post by Crippin »

Hi,
I'm new to the forum & also new to owning the GTi.
Basically I'm just curious to what exhausts for the 9n3 GTi is a good one. I hear mixed reviews about Miltek and only highs about Scorpion.
Does anyone have any video's I can listen to or have either exhausts on or a different one?

Help would be appreciated, thanks.

Cal.

welcome to the forum buddy!

heres mine standard:

Heres mine the same day i got the millktek TB fitted.. (resonated)

This is the video that Milltek use to sell the exhaust (with my car - mine was the R&D car)

here it is 2 years later all bedded in (non resonated)

here it is going through a tunnel with a flame at the end... hence mate gets giddy haha

Sounds nice mate.

How dramatic did your mpg drop once having the tb?
Think I might be in need of purchasing one.

Haha, what power you running?

I'm still lost on what websites to look at to buy things for the car..
Wanting to get the exhaust and the dumpvalve brought pretty soon before other things.
Not sure on what dumpvalve to get either.
Need to get a bit of help or a point in the right direction.

Forge 007p is your best bet dump valve wise. Also if you enter discount code sc10 on the forge website you get 10% discount If you buy it from them. Awesome sell them cheaper only difference is the Awesome branding on them.

Cheers both of you.
Get a lot more help on here than the previous Clio forum I was on.
Seem to get helped and pointed in the right direction, instead of being laughed at.
Cheers again.
I'll post some pictures up one day soon once I get these horrible alloys off.
Cheers again.

No problem. Most forums are full of keyboard warriors who just take the p*** out of less experienced people.

In my oppionion forms are there to help everyone and build a community of like minded people with the same car or similar.

Feel free to have a look over my build thread for any ideas

Good luck with your project.

I'm running 215bhp & 294ft/lb

came up with more power first time round but less torque, so had it mapped for torque! & everybody knows torque wins races but everyone seems to play on pub talk bhp! Ooosh! haha

look at www.awesome-gti.co.uk for bits and bobs, you can also buy direct from forge & milltek!

some companies like AMD do packages like map and exhaust for x amount etc!

Do the miltek systems knock around and have quite a bit of movement when on?
A friend of mine said they do, you he doesn't have one on.. So not entirely sure.

Awesome.
Do you recommend resonated or de-res?

Also why is resonated more expensive than de res?

I have none res and find it great. Makes noise when you put your foot down but quite otherwise.
I have been in a polo with a res version so can't comment.

Non res is not droning on the motorway either.
