Bye Bye Polo

Post by craig200588 »

After owning my 1.2 Polo SE for only 11 months, its time for a change. Loved the Polo but just lacked equipment and that "WOW" factor.

So today I placed an order for a brand new Volkswagen Up! its a High Up!, 1.0 litre 75BHP engine (more economical too) in candy white, with sports pack (16inch black triangle alloys, sports suspension and tinted windows), and sound pack.

Wont be here till June (hopefully sooner) but thought I would share you what he will look like :)

You are swapping a Polo for a Up? I would have a Polo everyday over a Up. The Up isn't that well equipped either, unless you pay extra for the options.

The Polo is a lovely car, but it was too big for us, plus too expensive to run! the MPG is terrible!

I think the Up! just looks like a shurnk down Polo :)

Im more than happy with it :) cant wait to be in a smaller, sportier car again

The Up! is a very trendy cool little car. The GT should be awesome. Im sure you will love it.

I might think about getting one of these at some stage as a runabout to keep the mileage off the GTI. 8)

Agreed. Since when was driving a biscuit tin on wheels classed as a sport? Happy for you though mate if it suits you better and you prefer it then why not :) 75bhp in that though, bet it's quite nippy around town

I like the L(Up)o too, It's got good reviews so far, the images Ive seen don't make me think much of it but once I see one in the metal I'm sure that will change! What's this about a GT? Sounds tasty :D

Have you asked about the "Just add fuel option"? Might be available soon.

Seen this couple months back... http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoe ... month.html

I can't follow the maths here. You will have taken far more in depreciation in 11 months on the Polo than you will save in fuel in years trading down to an Up.

I was disappointed with the Up economy figures which are little better than the Polo's...

Surely the MPG on a 1.2 Polo can't be "terrible"?

I used to have a 1.2 9n3 and one of the reasons I got rid was due to the awful MPG. Even on a long journey on the motorway glued to 70mph i'd be lucky to get 35mpg. Problem with the 1.2's is your always revving the knackers off the poor things, at 70mph in 5th they're doing 3500 RPM

Oh - I see, yes that would spoil economy, thats why I guess so many cars have 6 spd boxes now.
