Hi guys, I hope you are all well.
I am having some issues trying to find lower profile tyres for my car.
I ideally need 195/45/15 but the problem is I cant find anything with a load index higher than 78. My car needs 82 and upwards.
All I can find is 195/55/15 with an index high enough.
How have you guys with tdi's managed to fit low profile tyres and avoid this issue?!
Thanks

Cars that had 15" wheels from factory had 195/55/15 tyres. Shouldn't be a problem... why do you need 45 profile ones?

This is what I thought, until I spotted some new old stock Melbournes at the dealers with 195 50 15 rubber on them. The sticker on the inside of fuel filler flap also lists this as an "official" size. I replaced all four corners at the end of last year - went from 55 profile down to 50 profile. They're so much cheaper. 4 x 195 50 15 82V Uniroyal Rainsport 2s for £202, fitted at my place on a Saturday. Bargain imo.blazeguarder wrote:Cars that had 15" wheels from factory had 195/55/15 tyres. @blazeguarder. Hi mate, The original size were 175/60/14. I need lower profile tyres as I have lowered the car by 50mm and it is rubbing when on full lock. Hopefully losing 10mm from the tire wall will help reduce this.
@k.i.t.t - Awesome thanks for the info mate, you are right that is a bargain. I found a set of 4 for £167 from camskill!! my local guy can fit them for £30. Bargain, thanks again mate.
