stereo problem

Post by FrankM83 »

Just got my 6R yesterday, very happy with the car but as soon as i left the showroom i noticed the radio was not working! my car is fitted with a €600 option stereo which is a rip off as it's exactly like this!!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HD-Car-DVD-GP ... 434wt_1037

went back to the showroom they uninstalled it plugged it in again and worked, went back home with the radio working and while browsing to see how everything works, I went to the display changing switch on the wiper switch. My car doesn't have the MFSW, but as soon as i pressed the switch to toggle display, it did change the display but it started changing the channels also!! now my local dealer is saying it's not a problem but im worried that they confused some wiring!

anyone knows what can be wrong?

I'm sure the dealer is going to say it's normal but i don't think so, they already said that it's normal that the stereo doesn't work (beleive it ot not that's what a garage guy at local VW said!!!)

I also wish to contact german VW to see what they say about the fitting of non genuine stereos in their new cars

if vw have indeed fitted an non genuine radio in your car then i suggest you take it back immediately and get them to fit an OEM one !

I would contact VW themselves and see what they say because they might not honour the warranty if the dealer is doing that.
