Footwell Blower not working?

Hi just bought a 1.4 tdi 6n2 2000, with 40k miles the other week and noticed a few niggles with it so far, for some reason when you select the footwell blower no air comes out of it, it just blows through the top vents?

Other few things are the rear window washer just fires water over the car (lol), is there any way to point it, i cant see anything, it just twists.

Bearing noise in neutral, goes with clutch pressed down, i was thinking thrust bearing?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
