Fitting lowering springs to a 9N Polo

Post by Kronkey »

Hey

Just wondering how hard of a job swapping the stock springs on my 9N for lowering springs would be? And what a reasonable quote would be from a garage?

I'm still a newbie

Cheers!

Would expect to pay no more than 2 hours labour, but at a garage that can easily be over £100

A garage will charge around 25 a corner, I got a mobile mechanic come round mines and fit 35mm springs for £70. If i had the tools, I would do the rears myself, takes like what best part of 30 mins give or take.

Rears are easy, will need spring compressor for the front (these can be bought cheap got mine for about £15). Its not a difficult job to be honest providing you have axel stands etc.

Spring compressors can be unpredictable tho... Lowered a lot of cars, then one day they slipped and shattered a bone in my finger :(

Stick at rachet strap round as well to protect you if they do slip
