POLO SDI FAULT CODE 17911 help

Post by Saddo »

Hi all

My wife's 2003 polo sdi is throwing the following code.

17911 P1503 Load signal from Alternator Term. DF Range/performance/Incorrect Signal.

It stuggles to start some mornings from cold but otherwise runs ok.

Any ideas???

Thanks

17911/P1503 - Load signal from Alternator Term. DF: Range/Performance / Implausible Signal

Possible Causes

Alternator faulty Voltage Regulator faulty Wiring and/or connections faulty

Possible Solutions

Check / Replace Alternator Check / Replace Voltage Regulator Check wiring and connections Check the fuse box that is in the battery tray, it might be burnt, the fuse or the complete plastic box (pretty common failure on Sharan because it carries so much electrical load). If so, change the complete fuse box, it is not too expensive fix if this is the cause.

Wow, will have to wait until the dryer weather, also read that a yellow wire can become damaged under the car......

When you turn the ignition on (without starting the engine), does the battery idiot-lamp light up in the instrument cluster?
