polo wheels!

hi there
if i had 17 inch wheels that were an ofset of 35 would the rub if lowerd by 40mm om springs and dampers.
the tyres are 205 40 17
if they would rub what would they rub on?
the plastic of the metal?

yes 17s will rub.
go for 16s.

on a mk4 they would rub on the rear bumper (where it joins to the body) and most of the plastic liner.

One technique is to spray some bright paint on the inside of the arch, go for a drive, take the wheel off and see where the paint has rubbed off

when you say yes they will rub are we talking plastic or metal cos i could just take out the plastic inners!

stick with 15 or 16, it depends if u want the euro look to b honest.

ive got a mate with one on 17 and she cant have no-one in the back as it rubs bad.
keep them small i say

15s,16s wont rub at all.
17s will fit but with some arch work!

clear enough?

dont take the p*** mate your just saying the same thing! you have not said if it rubs on the metal or plastic! if is plastic is not a prob but with the metal it is.

with 17s itll rub in the front top (bit nearest the door) metal of course! :lol: :lol:

the car will "bottom out" and hit the metal arches at the back. if carrying loads or going fast over a bump.

with 16s if u go for 195/40/16, they wont rub at all. (metal or plastic!)
