Coming home lights - special technique?

Post by joeallenpro »

I've read in a few places that the Polo 6R has a special technique for activating coming home lights...

People have said if you flash the full beam after removing the key from the ignition, the fog lights will illuminate until 15 seconds after the car has been locked,

I've read it in a few places with people confirming, but I cannot get it to work in my car!!!

Anyone else able to do this?

I had to use a VAGCOM cable to make the changes to get this to work.

To get the automatic "coming home" lights working, you need to have a specific harness that you install and then code in.

Need a harness.

http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/product_i ... info/p9235

then a new light switch, And xenon head lights, And rain sensor :)

and if you haven't got it :) your gonna be looking at about 3k, as the xenon head lights retrofit kit they do his £2,217

http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/product_i ... lo-6R.html

for me i can justify spending 2k on a set of lights, no matter how bright there are

This now works with my car. Flash the headlights after removing the key and then when you open the door the DRL's and cornering lights illuminate for 15 seconds.

Don't know how it didn't work before....

Sounds like its a software update hasn't your car been into vw recently ?

By cornering light you mean the one. In the headlight

Do you have vcds ?

Yeah the car was in earlier last month. Only found out it worked by accident the other day.
The two halogen lights in the headlight and DRLs illuminate also the taillights and number plate lights.
