Hi all

Recently started to get a crunch when changing into second gear all the rest are fine has anyone had this issue? if so would anyone recommend a company that repairs gear boxes ?

2nd gear syncromesh has worn, when changing gear the worn syncromesh isn't slowing your gear down so it crunches, does it crunch if you select 2nd really slow?

Quite alot unless you have a good mechanic m8! if u took the gearbox out yourself that would save costs parts will be quite alot as its vw probs around 500 quid if u took box out yourself

It's not a fix, but may help, there are 2 Redline gearbox oils that help with the crunching, depending on the year of your car, one is better. Come have a search in the VWW forum for info.
