Bluetooth hands free

Post by Quark »

:x
I ordered a new Polo GTI back in May for September delivery. Bluetooth hands free was not any sort of factory-fitted option, only available as a dealer-fitted, so I thought instead I would opt to buy and install the Fiscon bluetooth module separately. Obviously I wanted to have it ready for delivery day, so I bought it and received it a month or so ago.

Now I learn that in the meantime, VW have updated quite a lot of the Polo range to include as standard their bluetooth kit that adds the second screen on a stalk in front of the head unit, and my Polo will include this.

I must be the only person in the world to be annoyed by having extra stuff for free, but having shelled out £400 for the Fiscon unit, I'm really annoyed! ARGH.

Ah well, guess I'll have to sell it on eBay!

Rant over, sorry!

Hi Guys ~ This is my first posting but I have been watching for a few months

I tracked the ship 'Bess' from SA using the VIN from the dealer ~ who didn't know you could do this that way and I sent him regular updates as a dig

Having read all sorts of horror stories about holes in the dash for the Bluetooth I didn't ask for, I needed to see my car before I collected it ~ 1st September

Having seen it, don't worry if you don't want it because the cable comes in at the side of the audio surround trim upper join line ~ on mine anyway
and the bracket is stuck on and wobbles on some kind of sticky pad

My dealer has agreed to remove the stupid ugly touch pad and cable and says it doesn't bring up any fault codes but will leave the microphone on the A post trim ~ just in case I upgrade my SL55 to a phone with Bluetooth ~ I would still pair it to my sat nav

I have since had a look at another dealers stock and the new Polo's are the same but with the touch pad at different heights or positions ~ different shifts!

More soon ~ If I can help
