Baigo's South African 6R GTI

Post by DbnGuy »

Hi guys,

Just thought I would introduce myself. Name is Ziyaad aka Baigo.

I own a 6R GTI Candy white with Pano sunroof.

So far I have done the following to my car:

Exterior:
Wrapped my entire roof with Glossy black vinyl.
Tinted rear lights with Lamin X.
Fitted aftermarket LED Xenon headlights.
Had my monzas diamond cut to look like G6 rims.
Boot load sill strip protector.
20cm spacers all round. (wheels now flush with archers).
LED number plate lights.
Chrome indicator bulbs.
HID fogs.
65mm stubby aerial.
Rearview emblem cmaera.

Interior:
Full LED interior lighting
Aluminium GTI footrest
RNS 510

Other extras:
I have the VW OEM torch that fits in the lighter slot
I have the OEM GTI honeycomb keyholder
Polo rubber mats
Rubber mat custom made to fit my boot

Possible future updates:
Maybe some coilovers

Here are some pics of my car:

This is a nice view of my car. You can see my LED Xenon headlight with the parks on and my HID fogs. You can also see that my spacers give the car a more muscular look.

In this side view the diamond cut rims a clearly visible:

Here you can see my Lamin-x taillights as well as mygloss black wrapped roof:

My OEM rubber mats as well as my GTI footrest. Oh my Honeycomb keyring is also visible here

My handy torch in the lighter slot:

Loving your Polo mate, with a set of coilovers now it would be perfect! :P

See them aftermarket LED headlights, where'd you get them off? :)

Got them from a guy here in SA that imports from somewhere in the Far East.

I love that interior. Wish that was an option over here. I'd go for a remap and an exhaust over coilovers as others have suggested.

Btw, where did you get that keyring? I've got a little GTI grille thing but its a lot smaller than that and it came on a piece of string instead of a keyring. I think it's one of those things people used to tie to their phones  would prefer a proper one :)

I have 1 of those small grille charms. I was using that before I got this one. That is actully a mobile phone charm. This big 1 is exactly the same as that 1, just a bigger version. Both are grilles.

Got the big keyring from here: http://www.oemvag.es/en/151-volkswagen- ... ection?p=2

Ahhhh finally someone with the LED/Xenon headlights I've been looking at!

Pretty safe to say I'm getting a set of these now :)

How did the installation go, any issues along the way or was it pretty straight forward?

Aren't they illegal though since there's no light washers on that car?

Yes and they're also illegal as they are only manafactured for LHD vehicles - You can't fit this to a RHD car without screwing your beam pattern. The light units are made by Dayline and aren't available in RHD.

Still legal in SA, but may be illegal in the UK though, not sure.

These are not manufactured by Dayline. It is manufactured in China and made for RHD.

Hello , I'm french we also have a forum for our beautiful polo 6R, and we can not know or come to your light has LED with Xenon light around the lens.
Because in Dayline, we find that the same without this light as the BMW.
Where did you find these lights please? This would help us a lot.
thank you
