Hello people. Got myself a cheap 2001 Polo SDI as a commute to work car, and am pleasently suprised what a great little car it is! So good to drive and a fair bit of torque from the 1.9 diesel!
It's very high mileage 120000, but its in pretty good nick, mechanically sound and runs well. The central locking doesn't work, so I'm wondering if the RCLICK systems are easy enough to fit myself? Or...shall I get a replacement pump and see if that sorts it?
The rear washer pipe was squirting screenwash into the boot - which I have read on here is a common problem, so I've fixed that.
The driver side electric window worked when it wanted, yet the passenger switch (on drivers side) did, so I swapped the switches around so it's not as urgent to replace the switch.
The drivers airbag warning light is lit even though the airbag has been replaced (with second hand unit) but light remains on...any advice as I believe this is an MOT failure from this year?

Yeah your correct an any light on the dashboard that stays on will be an MOT failer, Also i have a centeral locking pump for sale if your interested. Rclick are good but trying to get a key cut is a right pain!
Get some pics uploaded man, i wanna see this 1.9 beast..

I could be wrong, but I've got a feeling that the airbag ECUs in these are single use only things, and will need replacing if the airbag has been deployed. Don't take me 100% on that though!

As for the MOT thing - I've got an airbag light on in my 330 atm (replaced the seats, dodgy occupancy sensor) and the MOT is due. I'll see soon enough if it fails/passes and will try and remember to let you know!

Edit - made it through the MOT with the light on - got an advisory for it though. (And failed for brake lines - opps!)

Triggerfish - Good news about the MOT - hope I will be that lucky!
I just changed the damaged driver side Headlight using this guide on here...

This is when I found the indicators were only held in by springs. The half turn plastic pin things had gone.
Pics? Will post one or two up soon, it's nothing special, but the more I drive it the more I love it!! :D
Piers0930 - will get back to you on the pump as looking in local scrap yards, thanks!
